Byron Ubernosky, CPA

Byron has 30 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in income tax planning and compliance for small to mid-size businesses, individuals and fiduciaries. Byron is also actively involved in helping his clients meet their estate tax planning and compliance needs. He has been a Shareholder, Partner, or Managing Member in the public accounting industry since 1988 and serves clients in a diverse array of industries nationwide.

Byron is also very active in the firm’s Accounting and Advisory practices and has a history of meeting his clients’ needs, whatever they may be. Over the years he has also been a part of numerous litigation support engagements and property tax disputes from the local level to the State Supreme Court.

Byron has a history of being a tireless representative for his clients against state and federal taxing agencies. During his 30 years in public accounting Byron has developed a strong reputation for being able to bring tax disputes to a successful conclusion for his clients.

Byron has served on two committees for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and been a licensed CPA since 1983. He is also a member of the Houston chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the AICPA.

Byron is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin.

Tax Manager

Reports to Member

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all phases of client engagements
  • Review individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns
  • Complete complex tax returns for individual, corporate and partnership tax engagements
  • Extensive client tax and estate planning
  • Manages accounting staff and schedules tasks
  • Direct client contact
  • Performs consulting services for clients
  • Handles IRS correspondence

Education/Experience Required:

  • Excellent knowledge of federal and state taxation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal personal skills
  • Strong tax research abilities
  • Capable of producing quality work deliverable to clients with few or no changes
  • State of Texas CPA license required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
